About the Publisher
ProQuest, an information services company which on its own and through partnerships, creates indispensable research solutions that connect people and information. Through innovative, user-centered discovery technology, ProQuest offers billions of pages of global content that includes historical newspapers, dissertations, and uniquely relevant resources for researchers of any level and sophistication—including content not likely to be digitized by others.
In 2004, ProQuest (formerly CSA) collaborated with the National Biological Information Infrastructure (NBII), a division of the United States Geological Survey (USGS), and part of the United States Department of the Interior (DOI) on an ambitious government/private industry partnership to develop Sustainability: Science, Practice, & Policy (SSPP)—the open-access ejournal. As part of this partnership, ProQuest/CSA and NBII published eleven issues of SSPP from 2005-2009.
In 2010, ProQuest made a commitment to assume total responsibility for the journal and has committed to continue publishing SSPP as an open-access resource based on the value of its scholarly contribution to the global community. ProQuest is proud to embrace its primary publishing roll and to offer Sustainability: Science, Practice, & Policy as an open-access publication as part of its innovative products and services that are valued by researchers—novice and expert—and the libraries that serve them.
